Diagnostic Imaging

Brodstone’s Imaging Department provides a full range of diagnostic testing with the latest technology. Services include: computed tomography (CT), 3D/4D ultrasound, x-ray, 3D digital mammography, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), bone densitometry, vascular ultrasound, PET/CT scan and echocardiogram. Our specially trained registered technologists are committed to providing the highest quality patient care. Our state-of-the-art technology allows Brodstone the ability to do tests more quickly, providing greater patient comfort. All of the tests performed in the Imaging Department are captured digitally. Images are then available to the Radiologists and healthcare providers at their workstations in the hospital, clinic, or in their home. This information is provided much faster and access is easier, so that patient wait time is at a minimum. 

Brodstone has enhanced its services in Superior by adding interventional radiologists that come to Brodstone every week. Adding to our current Pain Management program being done by our CRNA’s Lori Harris and Renee Sinclair, our new radiologist does the same exams that the CRNA’s do of spine epidural steroid injections and Medial Branch nerve blocks, which are done to ease chronic back pain. If these are unsuccessful, the new Radiology group offers radio frequency spine nerve ablations, which severs the nerve that is causing the chronic back pain using radio frequencies. All of these exams are done on an outpatient basis allowing the patient to go home within hours of the exam being done.

Further expansion on our services is Sphenopalatine catheterizations, this is a specialized test being done that aids in chronic migraine relief.

We are also able to do ultrasound-guided vein ablations of the legs which are done on varicose veins that are causing pain or excessive swelling in the legs.

An upgrade with the new radiologist group is US-guided vacuum-assisted breast biopsies using Mammotome. This is a new piece of equipment that allows the radiologist to biopsy an area of concern that has been seen on either a mammogram or under ultrasound. There is only one needle stick and once the biopsy is complete, the radiologist will leave a small metallic marker in the area that he biopsied. This metallic marker is beneficial by giving the exam spot that the biopsy was done so in the future if a mammogram or ultrasound is done, the technologist and doctor can see that the area in question has already been looked at and for future reference if there is change in that area.
