Superior, NE— Brodstone Healthcare is honored to announce that its Obstetrics Department has received a CuddleCot™, generously donated by Ashlie’s Embrace, a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting families experiencing stillbirth and infant loss. The CuddleCot is a specialized cooling device that allows families more precious time with their baby, creating space for bonding, memory-making, and saying goodbye at their own pace.
Ashlie’s Embrace was founded in 2016 by Tony and Erin Maroon following the stillbirth of their daughter, Ashlie. Their experience revealed the profound need for hospitals across the nation to have equipment that allows families the time they deserve. Their mission has since grown into the largest donor of CuddleCots in the United States, providing these devices to medical facilities nationwide to support families during unimaginable loss.
A CuddleCot functions as a gentle cooling system that fits into a bassinet, slowing natural changes and allowing families extended time with their infants after loss. This time can be crucial for parents, siblings, and extended family to hold, photograph, and honor their baby in a private and compassionate environment.
